They don’t want to talk about school. They claim to not have homework. They don’t want you anywhere near their backpack. Meanwhile, the grade report clearly shows they need our help. Is your struggling student fading from genuinely trying, to not wanting to try at all?

​All of the signs are there. We are entering the second semester’s slump phase (see Semester Lifecycle). It’s a tough time for us as loved ones, it is a tougher time for our struggling students.

We get our struggling students through it by prioritizing and using our parent powers.
Week 2
When our minds feel we are in crisis or overwhelmed, it becomes a lot less interested in learning… or focusing… or cleaning our rooms. School is tough enough for our struggling students, without the added weight of emotional turmoil or anxious tension to also slow them down.
